Are you sick of buying heaps of different supplements?

When people first come to me, they’re often taking things like: Vitamin D, Iron, Zinc, Vitamin C, B complex, Turmeric, Fish Oil etc. Here’s a typical mix:

These are all OK, but they have many bottles to take care of.

The solution is to have a custom compound made up for your specific needs. You can have everything in one powder or capsule. If you need a different mix for morning and night, we can make up two compounds for you. The cost of compounding is usually less than what it costs to buy the individual supplements, but SO much more convenient.

Over the years I’ve been seeing clients, I’ve seen many people have reactions to various things that are added to “health” supplements. Fillers, excipients and preservatives are just some of the additives used by manufacturers. Some are on the label, some aren’t. These can create allergy type reactions, or affect the action of the supplement. For example Magnesium Stearate is a common excipient used in tablets. It’s also a mineral binder. So if you’re buying a tablet that contains minerals, the magnesium stearate will prevent absorption of some of the minerals in the tablet. Sounds crazy right?

That’s just the beginning. Most supplements come in different forms. Some are good. Some are not. For example, the cheap form of Vitamin B12 is Cyanocobalamin. Cobalamin is B12. Cyano is Cyanide!!! The main active form of B12 in your body is Methylcobalamin. That’s the main form we use in our compounds. Many manufacturers, even large trusted brands, use the cheap forms of many different nutrients in their products.

We use NO Fillers, Excipients or Preservatives.

What’s in your compound from Total Health is just the active ingredients on the label. Nothing else!

Book a free appointment to arrange an appointment either online, or over the phone so we can assess your supplement needs and create a compound just for you.

We have a special offer at the moment. We're doing free online appointments to make recommendations for supplements.

We'll go through any supplements you're taking at the moment, and also discuss any health issues you may have. Then I'll make recommendations about which supplements, and how much of each one are a good fit for you.

Here at Total Health, we make up custom compounds for our clients. The compounds can be powder or capsules. We find most people prefer capsules. We combine all the supplements you need and put them all into one bottle for you.

The benefits of compounded supplements

1. We NEVER use fillers. Some supplements have 99% filler in the capsule. For example a typical Vitamin D capsule has about 50 mcg Vitamin D and 25 mcg Vitamin K. So the total is 75 mcg. A small capsule holds 200,000 mcg! So your standard Vitamin D capsule is almost all filler. By compounding we can put many more things into the capsule so you need to take less capsules per day. It's also really convenient to have all your supplements in one bottle.

2. We only use the good forms of each supplement. As with everything there are cheap supplements and there are the better quality ones. For example, the most common form of Vitamin B12 is Cyanocobalamin. Cobalamin is B12. Cyano is cyanide. Yes, cyanide!!! This is what many companies put in your supplements. I only use the active forms of B12, either methyl, hydroxy or adenocobalamin. These cost more than cyanocobalamin but they work so much better. And of course you're not putting cyanide into your body that has to be detoxed.

3. Compounded supplements are usually less expensive. If you have just 1 supplement it will be more cost effective to just buy it off the shelf. When you have about 3 supplements it's about the same price as buying the same things individually. Once you have more than 3 supplements it works out much more cost effective to have a compound.

Here's a typical compound. It has Acerola, Iodine, Selenium, Kelp, Zinc (2 types), Guava Leaf Extract, Quercetin, Magnesium (8 types), Trace Mineral Complex, Iron, B complex (All activated types), Vitamin E, Vitamin D, Vitamin K.

I went onto iherb and did a comparison. To have all the same ingredients would cost you $234 and you would be taking 11 capsules per day. This compound costs $121 and you need only 3 capsules per day.

So it's a bit of a no brainer. When you book your free appointment I'll connect with you via zoom or just plain old telephone if you prefer that. We'll discuss what your needs are and then I'll make up your compound and post it out to you. It's that simple.
